Wall Street Journal Blogger: 'Why Nexus 7 Beats The iPad'
« on: September 13, 2012, 01:10:00 PM »

Techjournal is a technology column that is part of the Wall Street Journal, arguably the world's leading financial newspaper.  They often have interesting opinion pieces about technology and today in the India edition of the paper, tech writer Amit Argawal makes his case for why the Nexus 7 Tablet by Google is actually a better tablet experience than the venerable iPad.

One interesting thing about Amit's column is that he says upfront that he purchased his Nexus 7 over eBay since you can't purchase the tablet yet in India directly from Google.  While he praises the hardware what really wowed him is the Jelly Bean software.   After having a mediocre experience with a Galaxy II phone running Gingerbread last year he was surprised by how much more polished Jelly bean is.  Features that he found particularly outstanding include the speech recognition available even when you're offline and Google Now.  Of course he also appreciates that since it's a Google Nexus device sold directly by the company the OS will always have the latest updates with no wait.  It's a short, light article to read but it raises a question for the forum.  Do we have any Nexus 7 owners here?  If we do say hi in the comments and tell us how you bought your Nexus 7!
