Backing up in 4.2

I have read some problems when trying to restore a Nandroid with this new update. Has anyone tried? I was going to try and use Wugs .5 toolkit to do a backup but couldn't even find a build or up to date JB.no dug further and saw that folks are having problems restoring in this new build. (Is it a build?) I am talking part ignorant. Anyway, I did a nandroid backup on the Nexus but I am not sure really if it will work. If I have a problem from here what do I do to restore my unit to exactly where I am now?

A Nandroid backup will restore all settings and apps regardless of what build you are coming from or going to. The only issue would be compatibility in recovery. As long as you are using the same custom recovery, I wouldn't expect any issues.

The problem is 4.2 emulates the locations of your sdcard directories, and the Nandroid backup /recovery utilities expect to find them in different locations. Clockworkmod expects to find its backup files in a /sdcard/Clockworkmod directory, but 4 2 emulates that location while keeping the files in /sdcard/0/ Clockworkmod (if you are user 1 on the multiuser system). I did a backup with TWRP. It doesn't show in the folder. If I go into TWRP I can flash the backup. I tried and it restored but reset a bunch of apps. Google music for one.
 Why can't I see the Nandroid in the TWRP backup folder  with Astro or Root Ex?
Between the Bluetooth and Wifi conflict and Bluetooth flat out making my Nexus sluggish I feel like starting from scratch.
Wugs newest build doesn't have 4.2. I am going to go back to stock with the any and see what happens.

Bird is correct 4.2 using the MTP structure, is designed to not read the root of \sdcard where the recovery puts the backup. The developers of CWM are working on the issue it is reported.
