Nexus 7 reviews, tutorial and app videos
« on: September 25, 2012, 06:33:48 AM »
Hi all,

I've started making youtube videos all about the Nexus 7 and I thought your community might find them useful. Some are reviews of different aspects of the device while others are short 1-2 minute(ish) basic tutorials and app reviews on the best apps for the tablet.

Here are a couple of taster videos. The first being my full review of the tablet:

This is compilation video of 10 tips:

This is a compilation video of 10 android tablet apps:

There are another 50 videos all about the Nexus so delve into my youtube channel and check them out. I'll continue to update this thread with more videos as I upload them.

Thanks for watching them and I hope you find them useful.

Regards - vgjfelix

Another app review this evening SongPop. It's all the range, but I needed someone's help to explain why:

Thanks vgjfelix, I will try to finish watching them tonight.

Had my Nexus a few months now so know it quite well, but there might be a few things I pick up  ::)

@vgjfelix, great videos, I've watched all the ones you posted.

One question though, why isn't your app compatible with JB on Nexus 7?

Some nice videos vgjfelix, haven't watched them all yet but have some info if you don't already know...

The BBC have just released the BBC Media Player, it's a flash alternative for their website if people don't want to sideload flash. Tap the video box in the browser and the BBC Media Player takes over.

The BBC iPlayer app can also be side loaded to work on the N7.

Also another Easter Egg, once you've multiply tapped on the Android version to get the Jelly Bean long press on that Jelly Bean for more Jelly Beans that can be flung around the screen.

The new BBC Media app seems to be rubbish. I'm doing a video very soon about how to get an older, better version of iplayer.

And the flinging jelly beans easter egg is tip #24 :)

I wouldn't say it was rubbish, but is a stop-gap until the BBC change to non-flash playback.

It works, as does the BBC iPlayer app sideloaded.

It's because the service provider who make my apps are idiots and still haven't fixed this. You can download it directly here and then side load it: https://www.box.com/s/9de0c059bd0f37086c84

There are now a couple of options when it comes to watching the BBC iPlayer on Jellybean (Nexus 7). See the options and take your pick:

This was discussed in "JayJ’s Easy Flash Install for the Non-Rooted or Rooted Nexus 7" thread.

Thanks for the video though, keep them coming.

Just in case any of you didn't know this; you can create folders within your homescreens with a simple long press:
