I am like Cbers and use HD Widgets on my Nexus 7 and S3 Galaxy without any issues.

Granted, but for those who are experiencing reboots, turning off location in the widgets may be a solution. It may have to do with the way the non gps location works, which could be different for the isp or router that is used. Or however that system works. Whatever the crash fault, hope it's fixed on the next update.

The clock widget lock screen I use, I had to input location manually and haven't had this problem.

It's possible that a mem fault could cause an os crash, but it's never happened to me. I always got fc's instead. The reboots on another tablet were from turning on the wifi too soon or using a program that needed root before superuser loaded.

This is an easy step to try, beats a system reset.

Hi matt. If you and others think it is HD Widgets, has anyone emailed the developer to ask them to look at the problem?

If you read the devs replies in the reviews on google play and the xda threads, the dev claims it is a google os update issue. It probably is. HD Widgets seems to be triggering the events more than any other app. Disabling location in the app is a temporary solution until google gets their act together. I blame google, not HD Widgets. Man, you guys love this program, I'll have to check it out when this is over! Nevermind, I'll get it now and be another test bed.

All this time I thought you were the one that loved the program. Lol. I can't keep a widget for more than a day.

Yeah, it seems pretty cool, only crashes so far when trying to back out of the app. Force close not reboot.

Also put on project m live wallpaper, let's see how quick I can drain the battery. Leaving gps and wifi on.

I just had my first reboot of the day. I am going to reinstall HDW and see if I notice any difference in performance.

I don't think that we can attribute the reboots to HD widgets. I had no issues while I have it installed. My wife did not have it installed, yet she was experiencing the reboots. Completely opposite findings.  Let's continue to work together on this to gather enough data to be conclusive.

Sounds like a plan. I posted this possible fix after finding it in at least 5 sources in an attempt to forestall a flood of posts on rebooting. I could link if you want. I'm not claiming complete sanity for myself, but maybe they are all hallucinating.

This source sums it up pretty well.

I agree with loociddreemr, if people not using HD Widgets and still getting reboots and people using it are not then it cannot be the culprit. I am not using it but I have not suffered a single reboot since having my 32GB Nexus 7...

I know for a fact that my system reboots and HD widgets is not part of the equation.

It has been reported to be a google lock screen widget issue involving gps and location services. Not just hdw. The developer of hdw says that google did not test non- google widget apps before the last update.

There are probably other reboot causes as well.

No reboots or fc.
Then hdw updated to fix  4.2 reboots.
Tablet rebooted immediately after update.
Re-enabling location.
