For example, when you hold your smart phone, are your fingers in front of the screen, or on the edge?

Smaller, lighter, cheaper?

Nexus 7 is a nice tablet but I hope tablets five years from now will have edge to edge screens, weigh less and cost less than today.

Lighter?! Smaller?! Seriously? One of the markets that they were going for was ebook readers, if they made it any smaller then it would make it harder to read (for a lot of people). There's also a reason why they didn't design the N7's screen to go edge to edge, again it was to cater to ebook readers, when the screen goes to the edges, the thumb/fingers get in the way while holding the tablet, covering the words towards the sides. Needless to say, they were totally going after the Kindle market

Thats nice,  I don't read ebooks personally, and would also prefer the screen to go to the edge, but I read somewhere why they added the thick borders,  I was simply passing the info along
I use my N7 mostly for reading books. It would be much easier to palm if it did't have the half inch border on each side of the screen. My fingers would be on the edge, not in front of the screen.

I finally figured it out. A better headphone jack

In order of importance:

1. MicroSD port
2. back-facing camera
3. gorilla glass - It's small and will get dropped a lot and will knock about in handbags and backpacks a lot. Corning   glass is good, upgrade to gorilla is better. I'd pay $25 more for it as an option.
4. Mini USB port - increases access to storage options.

To be honest, none of these is very important. It's new and great and I don't want a new one right away!

HDMI port not even on my list.  Please don't make it bigger.
