What's On Your Wish List For the Next Nexus?
« on: July 20, 2012, 10:01:50 PM »
I'm diggin' my N7 for sure!  But sometimes, when the volume spikes and I reach for the volume rocker I hit the pwr button instead.  I hope on the next iteration of the N7 that they'll move one of the buttons to a different location so that there is no mistaking one for the other.  Maybe the pwr button on the top?

What's on your wish list??

I am personally someone who likes to simply enjoy the device i have.  There is always something better around the corner.  For example, im sure the Kindle Fire 2 will have SOMETHING that it does better than the Nexus but who cares really?

I would think this tablet should last the average person around 4 years.

So 4 years from now ill be looking for this

- Android 8.0 (Blazing twinkie covered in ice cream topped with cherry)

- An Octo core processor

- Super HD 2040p screen

- NFC 2

- A photon torpedo launcher

- Equipped with a viagara dispenser
Phone: Droid Bionic
Tablet: Nexus 7
Wife: Hot
Daughter: My precious

Rear facing five mp camera plus SD card slot. Otherwise I love it just the way it is.

Don't forget your flux capacitor!!!!!

I will say though I hope they won't build a new one in the same size for at least a year. Asus is really bad about this

MicroSD card to expand memory

This is all that is lacking for me... 4G might be a plus.   One or the other is needed.

Also I remember back in the day devices supported a variety of expansion slots, whether it be PCMCIA, CF, or others... but there really isn't a current day equivalent that's commonly used.  I wish this were common place again because it allowed companies to add functionality that wasn't stock, for example a 3G/4G modem or even video out could be added easily enough given Google didn't want to take the time to add it.  But anymore devices are all encompassing with no expansion.

So add this to my wish list, some type of common interface for expansion.

Nothing! After getting a new tablet twice a year, I finally have 1 that's good enough to keep for a couple of years.

Smaller, lighter, cheaper?

Nexus 7 is a nice tablet but I hope tablets five years from now will have edge to edge screens, weigh less and cost less than today.

Lighter?! Smaller?! Seriously? One of the markets that they were going for was ebook readers, if they made it any smaller then it would make it harder to read (for a lot of people). There's also a reason why they didn't design the N7's screen to go edge to edge, again it was to cater to ebook readers, when the screen goes to the edges, the thumb/fingers get in the way while holding the tablet, covering the words towards the sides. Needless to say, they were totally going after the Kindle market

The Nexus 7 is already light enough and thin enough for my taste.  I would be too affraid to drop it.  I actually like that I have a case on mine, adds some grip to it and protection.

I use my N7 mostly for reading books. It would be much easier to palm if it did't have the half inch border on each side of the screen. My fingers would be on the edge, not in front of the screen.
