Good question. When you go to setup your device for the first time, it should ask you for your Google account and such. Once you enter it in, I believe the credit should then be applied.
One of my co-workers got his tablet from Staples and when he started it up, it asked if he wanted to claim his $25 credit right on the screen.

I found out something about CoPilot yesterday that wasn't too pleasing - although many individuals won't find this as an issue.
Eventually, the Nexus 7 I have will be used in the car for watching OBD II codes, music playback, navigation, and the like.
Yesterday when I was playing music, I also had CoPilot running as well. When CoPilot was ready to speak a turn instruction, the music fades away for the instruction. Unfortunately, something is broke with the CoPilot instructions - because they would not speak while something else was playing - so you couldn't hear the turn-by-turn instructions.
I closed CoPilot and fired up Sygic. Sygic had no problems. The music faded down, the instruction was heard very clearly, and the music faded back in. So there has to be something with CoPilot that needs a fix.

Sygic is probably the best one that I have found as well - although there is a cost for it. It is only a 14-day trial - and then you have to pay approximately $30 for it (they are in EUROS).
CoPilot Live Premium USA is pretty good for the cost of $9.99 in the Play store.

I, too, have noticed a screen flicker with mine as well when it seems to brighten or darken the screen.
The other issue - as you mentioned - is the touch screen. But like I mentioned in a previous post, I only notice it when the room temp - or temperature of surrounding air - is close to body temperature.
I understand that capacitive screens work based on electrical current and not temperature - but why does there seem to be an issue when using it in hot locations...

Have you experienced any lock-ups or issues with NavFree USA?
I tried NavFree USA, and had some issues. I would get to the point of enter the cross street or house number - and either as I was entering it - or just after it was entered, NavFree USA would always shut down and take me back to the home screen.
That was certainly the deal breaker for me - otherwise NavFree seemed to be a viable option as well.

Wanted to see if anyone else has had this problem.
The touch screen seems to be completely non-functional when the ambient temperature is warm. For instance, it is about 90 degrees here today. When I put the tablet in the car on my way home, I couldn't get the screen to sense my finger touches to unlock the device.
I've had this issue a couple of times now - and that is the only time it is a problem.
About a minute or so after I get into an A/C-cooled location, the screen seems to work fine.

The CoPilot GPS free version does NOT do voice nor turn-by-turn. It allows you to see where you are going - but it requires you to push a "<<" or ">>" icon on either side of the map to move to the next turn. The CoPilot Live Premium USA does turn-by-turn and voice navigation. I think it is worth the small cost to download the US maps all at once (instead of individual states). It does 3D as well - like a TomTom. CoPilot does also include POI with the maps. The other good one is Sygic - although it is much more expensive ($50+). But, they supposedly use TomTom maps and POI information. They offer a 14-day trial if you install it - although you do have to download the stats individually. This is more similar to a typical GPS screen - as it shows how fast you are going (mph) and has an easier method of location input (in my opinion). Brian S. http://www.bsntech.com

Hi all,
I've had the Nexus 7 for a couple of weeks now.
Ventured out and purchased a bluetooth headset. I paired it to my cell phone and it works perfectly - no trouble with sound quality or any other issues.
However, the Nexus 7 is a different story. The headset paired up fine - but that is about the extent of it.
I have Skype installed along with the 3CX softphone. None of them will push the audio through the headset.
Reading another forum, someone mentioned downloading an app called BT mono. It allows you to go in and turn on or off the audio pushing to the headset - no matter what it is.
So I started some music in "Play Music" and then hit the "On" button in BT mono. After just a short pause, the music was then pushed to the headset instead of through the internal speakers. But, the music was cutting in and out and there was a bad amount of static to it.
Android is used on this tablet - as it is a vast array of phones. So why is BT so unreliable with this tablet versus others? Like I said, the headset works just fine with my Samsung phone (just a flip-phone that isn't running Android or anything fancy).
Not sure if anyone else has had any luck getting a headset to work. My primary purpose is to use this with my VoIP softphone app on the tablet - but it simply isn't working.
