What app are you using for that nicer unlock screen?

I solved my problem by installing the free Business calendar app.  I can use it to select the calendars to view, and then see them in the default calendar which display I much prefer.

Anyone else having calendar issues since the update?  I can't get my work calendar to show anymore, just my personal one.  I can't find the menu to select which ones to show.

Nexus 7 General Discussion / Re: Dropped Nexuses and cracked screens
« on: November 14, 2012, 09:00:13 PM »
I've seen two different YouTube videos doing drop tests with the Nexus 7 and iPad, the second one including the iPad mini along with the large one.  Tablets were not in any type of case, nor did they have screen protectors.  In each instance the Nexus 7 proved to be more durable, and the large iPad suffered much more damage - surviving none of the tests.

While none of us will be intentionally dropping our tablets, sometimes the unexpected and unwanted happens.  That's why most of us get some type of case to protect our devices.  Thankfully, there are more and more options available.  We all look for one that most fits the way we use our tablets, our style preferences, our pocketbook, and seems to provide the needed protection.

I don't think anyone should be afraid of the build quality of the Nexus 7.  Buy it, enjoy it, and protect it like you would any other brand or size.

I downloaded eWeather HD from Amazon when I found it for free Tuesday.  Love it!  I told a coworker about it later that day but when he checked it was no longer free.  It is one I would definitely be willing to pay for,

I have yet to connect my Nexus 7 to a PC, but have used Dropbox to transfer files.

I, too, use the WiFi hotspot app that came with my Samsung Galaxy Showcase phone.  I have unlimited data.

Firefox doesn't support flash.  I use an older version of Dolphin for flash sites - just have to be careful not to allow updates to install as updated doesn't support flash.  Will also be checking out xScope.

Nexus 7 Google Play Account Discussions / Re: Credit card access

I've been there too.  My grandson made $81.00 worth of in app purchases one day.  Thankfully the game developer was willing to issue a refund.  Go into settings from within Google Play.  There you can set a pin number and require it to be entered for any purchases.   There is a similar setting in Amazon Appstore if you use it.
