Nexus 7 Help / Can't get off this screen

When I open my nexus a screen comes up that appears to be a search screen where I can enter information.  The time in at the upper part of the screen.  Keyboard at the bottom.  I can't get off this screen. My nexus is new, I've had it a couple of weeks.
