Thanks again S. Prime.  Your tip regards Win Media Player solved my problem.  I had tried it before but couldn't get it to work.  What I didn't know was that I needed to go to settings - security and allow sources from other than Play Store to access the tablet.

fxsarge, while its source is in the cloud, it's derivative is on my screen on my Nexus 7.  I would like to clean things up and have on my screen the things I want and that I like and enjoy.   If you could assist me and the community in any way to achieve this, I'm sure we would all be grateful to you.

I've tried the suggestions on this page with no success.  I found a suggestion elsewhere that said it could be done with windows media player but it too didn't work.  It recognized the Nexus and synched with it, but wouldn't add or delete or edit.  Now I'm following up on a lead that media monkey can do it.  !st have to learn media monkey.  Will let you all know if it works.

Why doesn't Google have something to say that would help?
