I have some news to report. After a bit trial and a lot of error I have gotten my flexible keyboard to work. This is my first attempt at using it. I actually got my "plain Jane" keyboard to work first so I gave this one last shot. One difference I noted was that this keyboard worked only if I plugged it into the adapter first and then plug the adapter into my N7 my plain Janes keyboard worked no matter how I plugged it in , so that maybe why I have trouble with this 1 in the first place.
conclusions:
1. My adapter works just fine. 2. My Flex keyboard also works 3. I don't much like my flex keyboard. 4. I think I'll use the Google Voice for general purposes. I've actually switched over to Google Voice because I've become more comfortable using it lately. If I could toggle back and forth between using Google Voice and a physical keyboard I would , but it doesn't look like I can. I'm not sure the N7 it's cracked up to be real word processor. I think I'll have to hang on to my laptop.
Those are my thoughts on this subject. Thanks for nursing me through this. I've gained a little experience in using a micro USB adapter and that is bound to pay off later on.

It looks like I might be on the wrong track. I'm just trying to find something that will help my n7 recognize my keyboard.

As stated earlier, I had a problem using an OTG cable to attach my USB Keyboard. Since I've been reading a thread on Amazon about using Stickmount to solve this problem. Of course Stickmount comes in two varieties, Root and Factory(that may not be right), and I don't want to mess with rooting, at least not right now. This is all a bit confusing, but will the "factory" Stickmount help with this? I'm going to try tonight. Chip in with any tips or your own experience.

Thanks BFM, I never saw that notify button on top of the thread. Exactly what I was looking for.

Let me start out by saying I like this forum and the way it is laid out. It is clean and easy to navigate.
Now the gripe (or request). I'd really like to be able to subscribe to threads on created or posted on. As it is, somebody may have answered a question I had, but I've either forgotten or haven't checked the thread recently. From experience I know how frustrating this is when you are trying to conduct a conversation online.
So that's it, subscriptions.
In the case this already exists, please tell me how to do it. It hasn't jumped up and bit me.
Thanks. I'll "try" to check back soon for an answer.

I've kind of gotten spoiled with my Moko Slimfit, but this thing looks great which counts for a lot in my book. Thanks for posting your pics.

I decided to reactivate my DroidX2 smart phone which I never much liked in the past. It turns out my two months on the Nexus taught me some skills that make my experience on the Droid a lot better. Now I carry both around which leads me to wonder, do I need both. Sure the tablet has a larger and better screen which makes it better for browsing and reading, but my smart phone has most of the features I like in my Nexus, plus a 3G connection to the internet, meaning it is my go to device when I am not home.
So, I'm up for an phone upgrade soon which will come with a 4G connection, newer software and a bigger, better screen and a very thin profile. Since I have to carry one anyway, I'm wondering if I would be better off with just a phone. It makes one less thing to carry, which in my world means a lot.

As stated here, http://nexus7forum.com/nexus-7-accessories/love-my-moko-slim-fit/I love mine. I've had it for two month now and it is still holding up fine. It gives me a firm grip on my tablet and the confidence to carry it around. It has a very firm grip, has a stylus holder and the stand feature works great. I'm amazed you can get something that works this well for $15.

@loociddreemr
Sorry for the delayed reply. I've been on the road for the last couple weeks.
Yes, it works on my PC.
I like the design of this keyboard. It rolls up and fits nicely in my bag. The key response is not perfect, but pretty good. That said, I'll probably send it back and look for something else. I just haven't found one that fits my specs, a foldable or rollup keyboard that opens up to near full size. Bluetooth seems to be the way to go, so I'll go with that. Bottom line? I need a compact, lightweight keyboard I can carry with me when I want to do some serious typing.

Bigtroutz, I bought the adapter you linked to.
loociddreemr, I tried what you suggested and didn't see anything I recognized in the list. I checked and unchecked everything. No luck. I've read that these adapters are touchy and don't always work. I can't really say.
bjs, this is NOT bluetooth. If I had a blue tooth keyboard perhaps all this would go away.

Mine works pretty well, though it is tricky to apply. I recommend watching the Youtube video instructions. There are minor flaws in the result, but overall I am happy with it. No, it is not sticky after applying. The touch response of the screen is very good, perfect when I am using a stylus.

You know, the "ammo bag" I ordered is working out alright at the moment. I've got my phone, tablet, wallet etc inside. It's also big enough to carry my lunch, but not too big to carry around. It needs some organizational options to be really useful though. I have just ordered a Keen Brooklyn II for $50 from Amazon. Reviews and looks sold me on it. If course I won't know till it gets here how useful it is. I'll let you know how it works out. http://www.amazon.com/Keen-Brooklyn-II-1000475-Chocolate/dp/B005DXK8MY

I got an Ammo Bag off Amazon for about $10. It will due, but not very well. It has to small pockets in the front. One big enough to hold my digital camera, the other will just barely hold my cell phone if I strip it down. It is a cloth bag with plenty of room, but does not hold a shape. In short, it is not what I am looking for.

I bought an adapter and the rollup keyboard and plugged everything in and ... nothing. I actually don't know what to expect other than keyboard functionality, but I don't have that either, no clicks, no runs, no errors. I tried the keyboard out on my PC and it works pretty well so maybe it is the adapter. I tried the same thing with no result on my Droidx2 phone.
