Nexus 7 Wallpapers and Themes / Re: Screen Shots from the Nexus 7

I know there hasn't been much activity here lately. But I changed my homescreen.

I've made it into a Fallout Pip-Boy

Using UCCW, Minimalistic Text, Simplistic Text, Phantom Music Control and a Pipboy 3000 live wallpaper.

Enjoy!

As a Canadian, I highly recommend TextPlus Free Text+Calls

We used to use HeyWire, but we found our friends were getting charged long distance or something along those lines.

I do NOT have a cell phone, so Text+ is awesome for me. It gives you a dedicated texting number associated with your account. We haven't been charged a dime.

I have 2 gmail accounts. I made a couple of paid app purchases on my old gmail account, is there a way to transfer these over to my new gmail account?

Thanks.

Nexus 7 General Discussion / Re: Case or no case?

Check out the Blurex Ultra-Slim Case on Amazon for $14.99. I've had this case for two months and it works great. Tight fit adds little bulk; tips to three positions on landscape; has a strech strap for one-hand use. The things gets everyday use and shows no signs of wear. Best I've seen. Especially for $15.

I've been using this case for a few months. It's a great case.

Nexus 7 General Discussion / Re: I'm trying to love it...

I personally love android, and so does my wife. The amount of customizations is great. For me its about customization, and being able to do what i want. Widgets are a godsend and I love playing with them. My wife likes being able to torrent ebooks, and then explore her android via a file explorer to find and move around the ebooks, she likes being organized. I like being able to get right into my N7 settings, even though its not rooted, and disable certain apps, or even change the launcher. I also like that I can just hook up my N7 to my computer and sideload things using windows file manager, instead of going through iTunes. Grabbing apk files off of the internet is nice too, my snes emulator iisn't on googleplay.

But that being said, perhaps android just isn't for you. You tried it, and it sound like you gave it a fair trial, nothing wrong with that! We have a iMac at work, I use it, but I dislike it... I've tried to like it, but I just can't get used to it, so I understand. Its your device, use what you like. The only thing I would say in hindsight, you should have borrowed someones android device, or tested a store one for longer.

Did you.try deleting your.account off.the nexus.ans.reinstalling? I guess that is as good as a factory reset. How about updating on the computer? Does that work?

Deleting my account and putting my account back on did the trick. Thanks.

Try clearing the cache in the Play store.

Tried this, and it did not work.

I also tried a hard reset. Thanks though!

Hello wpd,

I am getting the same error with some of my apps. Right now "Movies by Flixster" and "Ebay" refuses to update, and I get the same error. However I've updated a bunch of other apps since 4.2.2 no problem. It's just this one that refuses to update.

So did 4.2.2 fix up the bluetooth issues?

Neat. Thanks for the links. Do I need to have a rooted phone to install that file?
