I updated without protecting the root then proceed to back up , unlocked and rooted So far so good
I wish I could be more specific in terms of using the Nexus Root Toolkit 1.5.4 On the Menu there is a box for Initial Setup for full driver installation Automatic + Manual. I click on it and follow on the on screen installation to install the drivers Then I click on Flash Stock + Unroot (here you have the option to click either on a) cannot boot up or b) device is on. I click on a) and the Tool Kit did the rest

Many Thanks to all of you who came to my rescue I got my N7 back finally I used Nexus Rook Toolkit version 1.5.4 where I can choose the option Flash Stock + Unroot (with can not boot up status) With some difficulty I was able to install the driver for the N7. After the PC recognise the N7 the recovery is automatically done by the Tool Kit Again , many thanks to all

I can not see the tool box but following loociddreemr's suggestion I power up , push down the Vol. button and it gives me 2 choices: 1. Restart bootloader which I did and the N7 stcuks at the X symbol as before 2. Recovery Mode which I tried and it shows a picture of an android with a RED Trangle with an exclamation mark (!)on it I am willing to try anything at this stage Thanks for your quick replies

Hi Guys I tried to update my N7 manually ( before the guide came out) by putting the UPDATE.ZIP on the N7 (sd) it took the manual update but it can not reboot normally It stucks at he symbol X forever. I tried to power on and off a few times but it still stuck. Since it did not boot up, the PC does not recognize the N7 for me to use the Nexus Tool Kit to restore the factory default Any idea I can recover this so my N7 does not become a paper weight ? the N7 is unlocked and rooted Thanks

It's a CWM zip so don't unzip it, flash it through CWM Recovery.
Can you tell me how to "flash it through CWM Recovery" ? I am technically-challenged on this issue Thanks

By mistakes I back up my Nexus on the device itself, as a result it takes a lot of storage space from my 16GB. How do I delete these back up data so as to regain my storage space. After deleting these data, I plan to do the back up via my PC so the data will be saved on the PC instead of the Nexus 7 Help

My Nexus7 is rooted and unlocked I finally got my update notice, it rebooted into recovery, attempted to install the update but failed signature verification, at that point it rebooted, but didnt do anything (just sat at the google screen showing the unlock icon) eventually i got it to reboot but now it says my system is up to date Reading on XDA forum, I tried to clear data in the Google Framework app but it still says my system is uptodate
Any advise what should be done to enable my update OTA I read several time how to update manually but I am still at a loss how to do it manually but preferred to do it OTA

My N7 was unlocked and rooted and working great After rooting, there is a Busy Box file which I understand is installed during the rooting process. Today I learn that there is a "Busy Box Pro" apps. What does "Busy Box" do ? and Do I need to install/upgrade it to "Busy Box Pro" ?

I rooted my N7 and it works fine using a USB OTG adapter with the flash(thumb) drive. However, it does not work when I replace the flash drive with a portable hard drive. May be the N7 does not have enough power to run/read the portable hard drive ? Any comments, please Thanks
