The existing jack won't support a microphone. The only thing you could try is a Bluetooth microphone.

I'm not outside the U.S. so I can't verify if this works or not. I can verify that the Freeware Genius website is reliable.

Nexus 7 General Discussion / Re: virus or spyware« on: April 23, 2013, 01:03:59 PM »
Welcome to the forums. I agree with all the previsions responders, but for a different reason. I don't keep any sensitive data on my N7. If I should get a virus, it would be easy enough to do a factory reset and reinstall my apps.
I do use anti-virus on my pocket computer. It's probably not necessary, but it gives me some peace of mind. Kind of like using a seat belt. 81
Nexus 7 News - - Front Page Comments and Discussion / Re: ZAGG 'Invisible Shield' Screen Protection Now Available For Nexus 7« on: April 23, 2013, 12:56:17 PM »
Sorry to come in so late on such an important topic, but I've got to add my three cents worth. Almost every comment in this thread has the correct opinion. Some people don't use screen protectors and others get the best.
I don't think that anyone can argue that ZAGG isn't the best, but do you really need it for the N7? I think it depends on how you use your tablet. If you're like me, my machine is usually in my bag or in my hand while I'm in my easy chair. ZAGG is overkill. On the other hand, I would never use less than a ZAGG on my pocket computer. It's in my hand when I'm walking. In my shirt pocket most of the day (except sometimes when I bend over). I want a lot of protection on my main mobile device. Like so many other things, everyone needs to get what is best for them. 82

I suggest using 3M picture hanging strips. They can be easily removed later.

Nexus 7 User Tips / Re: Using USB flash drive« on: March 27, 2013, 07:58:04 PM »
Unmount should be used for the same reason eject should be used on your Windows machine. That way you can be sure that you are not pulling your flash drive out before all files have finished writing to the drive.

The Lounge: Off Topic Forum / Re: Sapphire is unscratchable, unbreakable, and the next big thing in touchscreens« on: March 27, 2013, 07:45:15 PM »$15-$20 isn't bad at all. You're right. I only skimmed the article and latched on to the line about the only phone it was on costing $11,000. I can't imagine spending that amount for a pocket computer. Thanks for correcting me. 87

I've made so many last posts that I'm almost last posted out; however, I've still got a last post to post in the last post folder. This is probably not the last post but it is the last post for now.

They are going to have to make it a WHOLE BUNCH cheaper before it can be successfully marketed.

Nexus 7 Apps / Re: Looking for good Wifi Fix apps« on: March 08, 2013, 02:28:15 PM »
I haven't experienced your problem with my N7, but have occasionally had it happen on other devices. Sometimes resetting the router fixes it. Other times I have reset both router and modem. The problem is so rare that I haven't spent much time looking for a permanent answer.
