New Nexus 7 Help (2nd Gen) / Re: Unable to connect my N7 to laptop
« on: February 19, 2014, 09:26:01 PM »
Turn off USB debugging, delete the ADB drivers in Device Manager, then reboot the device while it's still plugged in. Windows recognized the device as an MTP device & installed the drivers before it even fully booted.

Another XDA thread

vgifelix made a pretty good tutorial on resizing widgets to fit your screen.

Nexus 7 Help / Re: "Select All" Deletes from Trash
« on: December 30, 2013, 09:00:53 PM »
S.Prime,
Thanks for the response.  I'm beginning to think this may be a Nexus issue.
When I access my roadrunner email on my iBook, it does have a select all option, but, as I mentioned earlier, can't find a way to do it on my Nexus.
Happy New Year!

It is not a Nexus issue.  As S. Prime said, it's an application problem.  The stock e-mail doesn't support "select all".

Nexus 7 Help / Re: Can the Nexus 7 read USB thumb drives?

You need an "On The Go" (OTG) cable.
This topic has been discussed here:  using Nexus 7 and an OTG cable

and here: OTG usb problems

and here: Which otg cable recommended?

and in a lot of other threads if you do a forum search for OTG cable

You could also spend $5 or so on an OTG cable.  Then you could bring a whole bunch of tunes on one or more flash drives.

Try resetting your router.  Turn it off (or unplug it).  Wait at least 30 seconds and power it up again.

Before you spend money for a new mouse, try turning off Bluetooth on all devices that your mouse is paired with.  Then try pairing again with your N7.

New Nexus 7 4G LTE Topics (2nd Gen) / Re: Verizon Activation
« on: November 13, 2013, 09:56:26 PM »
From many of the tech blogs I check, it seems to me that Verizon doesn't like to approve devices on which they haven't installed their bloatware.

On September 17, Jeff Jarvis posted his history with Verizon.  Verizon caught red-handed in violation of FCC openness regulation

He has filled a formal complaint with the FCC.  When Verizon has to shell out some big bucks in fines, I'd bet y'all will get your LTE service.

I've said it before and I'll say it again.  This is my favorite forum because:

1.  No flame wars.
2.  No spam (I think I've seen 2 since I joined.
3.  Excellent moderators.
4.  Polite (mostly) members.
5.  Haven't seen any unanswered questions.

Four thousand users can't be wrong!

I do have one complaint though.  You people never let me have the "Last Post".

I have Avast installed although I don't really think it is really necessary as I don't keep any personal data on my N7.  I download only from Google Play and don't install "new" apps.  My theory is that after an app has 10,000 or so downloads, anything evil about it will have been discussed on the tech blogs.

Just my opinion, and you know what people say about opinions.

New Nexus 7 4G LTE Topics (2nd Gen) / Re: Verizon Activation
« on: October 21, 2013, 08:32:31 PM »
Is there any update on when Verizon will begin activating the Nexus 7?  It's been considerably more than the 4 to six weeks they said it would take for certification. ::)

Although I don't have an LTE machine and am not planning to buy one.  If I was I would be buying from a different carrier.

A quick Google search for when will Verizon begin activating the Nexus 7 appears to show that Verizon is having another one of their temper tantrums.

Nexus 7 Polls / Re: Would you use a case with integrated OTG USB Port?
« on: October 21, 2013, 08:21:53 PM »
1) Yes

2) Maybe.  It would depend on cost and other features.  I like a case that folds back into a stand and has a magnetic closure to shut down the machine.

3) The original, but I'm saving my nickels and dimes.

Maybe everyone should post how much weight they've gained by eating Kit Kats.

To bad they call it the "iKettle".  I could never believe it tasted good.
