Nexus 7 Ordering and Shipping / Re: Ship Date?
« on: July 08, 2012, 04:21:59 PM »
My GameStop preorder is supposed to be in my hands August 7th...

If you don't mind me asking, how did you find that out ? Everytime I ask GameStop they claim they will get them July 31st.

Nexus 7 General Discussion / Reasons why you want your Nexus 7 NOW
« on: July 08, 2012, 02:40:27 PM »
Though I'm a tech geek, usually I can wait for the release of something I preorder. Hell, I've never even purchased my iPhones on any of the launch dates, so I do have patience. That being said, for personal reasons, I wish I had it already. I'm going on a cruise for a week, July 16th to July 23rd. I'll be bringing my Kindle Fire, which has all of my books and some cool games and movies, but man it would have been fun to have the Nexus 7 along for the ride with some games optimized for its Tegra 3 chip (especially Dead Trigger). And then the Kindle App for my books and some movies.

Obviously I'm being a greedy little tech geek, but do some of you have reasons why you'd love to have your Nexus 7 right now ?

If you ordered from Gamestop (at an actual store, not online), I've been told by two different stores, that the first wave of pre-orders will come in July 31st.

Nexus 7 Android OS (Jelly Bean) / Re: No flash for Jelly Bean

From what I read on another site, Adobe will stop supporting Flash on mobile devices after August 15th, which I think means we'll be safe because it'll already be installed on the Nexus 7. I don't think they can take it away prior to August 15th. At least that's how I interpreted it.

I have a Kindle Fire, and in the Kindle Fire community, there were SO many complaints about the Fire, it was incredible. That being said, I loved my Kindle, did everything with it, hell, I even use it more than my laptop. I never understood the complaints. The Kindle Fire is an awesome tablet, I love reading books on it, watching movies (watched season 2 of the Walking Dead !), playing games, surfing the Internet, everything about it. It's a great tablet for $200. Now, comes along the Nexus 7. This thing just completely blows away the Kindle Fire, in every way. The specs are amazing. There are no perfect tablets, but for $200, this is as close as it gets.
