Date in notification bar?
« on: May 19, 2013, 01:09:44 PM »
Currently my notification bar shows on the right the Wifi icon, battery icon, and the time. On the left I have icons from the installed notification toggle app.

How do I make the notification bar show *both* date and time? Is there a built in android setting to do that?

Simply put, there isn't a way to do this on stock Android. Your options are either flash a custom ROM like AOKP or an app from the Play store...

That explains why I couldn't find a setting for it.

Thank you very much.

Found a way to do it and it might help someone else.

As I said, I use "Notification Toggle" - an excellent app. Among its many features, it has 2 'status Icons' on the bar. Either one can be set for day of month, battery level, or battery temperature.

So that solves my problem.

If that works for you then great...

Your device so your entitled to use what you want but can I ask why you use Notification Toggles in the first place when 4.2 has Quick Settings?

Simple: I don't know what quick settings are. Could you amplify?

Or, I should say, I know how to "open" the quick settings by dragging down on it, but is there a way to *add* anything to it other than what is already there by default?
Notification toggle let's me add things.

No there's no way to add anything... again unless your using a custom ROM...

I was just wondering... I use to use a similar app until 4.2 brought us Quick Settings but I don't fell the need now...
