Nice to have you here Ross!  I kinda think a lot of tablet newbies will be getting the Nexus 7.  It seems that Android tablets have finally 'arrived' with the introduction of the Nexus 7 and Jelly Bean.

Welcome from me as well Ross. I think you made a great choice with the Nexus 7 as your first tablet.

Yeah Hi Ross,

I think we'll all dig our new tablet, when it finally arrives!  Looks like this is the right place to learn all the 'hints and kinks' of the N7.  Hope it's not too boiling hot in Dallas...

Thanks everyone. Btw will there be flash in N7? I read somewhere that there wont be flash for jellybean devices. Is it true?

Flash will not be supported on JB 4.1, so yes, no more flash.  I think their last update is August 15, so flash will slowly disappear.  HTML5 replacing?

Adobe says the Nexus 7 will not support Flash for the version of Android the Nexus uses, as Drew said. But Google says that downloading the generic browser in the Google Play store will allow Flash access. The Chrome browser for Android not supporting flash is the culprit, for example if you look for the videos on our forums home page in Chrome for Android they will not display, but when I switch to the native browser on my TPT, you view them with no problem. Adobe is even pushing the change from the aging flash to HTML5. Also m.youtube.com for mobile devices uses HTML5.

That is exactly what happened to me on Chrome (tried to blame the forum for it :-) ).

So, is there any way to correct flash in Chrome?  'About:Plugins' just brings up 'page not available'.  Frustrating as Chrome is faster than other browsers (for me anyway).

Google has made the decision to support HTML5 with Chrome rather than the slower flash. HTML5 is replacing flash for internet video, so you will see webpages changing to HTML5. Much as BFM is currently doing with our forum.

Does anyone have any idea how long it will be before I can use BBC iPlayer, Moshi Monsters and Binweevils on my N7. It's very disappointing for me (and my grandchild) that these are not available.
