Tesco, Asda and Morrisons.......

Hi,

As a disabled person shopping on the internet and getting groceries and
Stuff delivered is vital.

Therefore installing the Apps for all the main supermarkets was vital. Very
Surprised to find that the Apps for Tesco, Asda and Morrison's all come
Up with a message "your device is not compatible". Argos one is fine.

Weird, would have thought compatibility issues would reign only on
Older devices not cutting edge, state of the art gadgets like the N7.

Have I missed something? This is so annoying.

We're not, we're bleeding-edge owners.

Not all app writers have caught up with Jelly Bean yet.

If you have access to another Android device running an earlier OS, then you should be able to install an app, then back it up and transfer to your Nexus 7 to install.

This is called "side-loading".

It's due to the fact that these large chains just aren't quick enough, obviously they don't have good enough development teams that keep these applications up to date.
The Nexus 7 is a reasonably new device, maybe not to us but incorporated with the small percentage of customers using these applications means it's just not a priority for these multi million pound supermarkets.

This does make sense and is all very logical. I assume the large sales of the Nexus 7
and more JB 4.1 devices following will mean they will be forced to update these
Apps very quickly.

In fact I have had a message that the ASDA one is now coming up as compatible
with our devices.

Thanks the explanaation on side-loading, I had wondered about that.
