When will I ever learn??  It came to me just a bit ago while I was busy playing Subway Surfers and in my haste I told it to download now.  Well, just like when 4.1.2 came along, it tried to update and just hung on Andy with a red exclamation point...  Now, I'm sure I have to go through some gyrations to get 4.2.  I just hope I don't hve to wipe out all of my game progress like what happened last time!! I should have just said, 'later' and I could have researched how I could be ready for the update.

I'll be searching the forums to find out how to update once the OTA fails....

So, I keep looking for an update, but am seeing nothing.  My unit is rooted.  Is there something I need to in order to see the update?

Have you checked...

Menu> Settings> About tablet> System updates> Check now...

Jay, how do you get the update to come again?  I remember there was a way to have it try to update again, when the 4.1.2 was new, and I've searched but can't find it...

Have you tried clearing the Google Services Framwork data, you'll also need to force stop it and then manually run the update as above?

Great! OK, now I can cause the update to appear again, but still same result; big red triangle.  Do I have to un-root or lock it back up to have it accept the update??

If you are rooted, it would be much easier to do it manually. Protect root, download the update from the server and flash in recovery.

I think Loocid is giving you good advice. That is what I did as well. USE OTA Rootkeeper to make sure your SU is backed up. I didn't even have to temporarily unroot. I just made sure there was a backup with OTA.

Slightly off topic this guys. I got my update today. And since then I have not been able to use MX Player.

Any suggestions more than welcome.
