Remove Kindle books.
« on: December 19, 2012, 10:41:00 AM »
I have download over 40 free books from Amazon using the Kindle App on my N7.
I have 2 problems:
1. When I have finished reading the book I spend about 10 minutes tapping my fingers before I can get out of that book and back to the book listings. Is there a simple way.
2. Once I finish the book and never want to read it again I can't remove or delete the book from the list and with my 80 year old memory I can't remember if I read it! Is there a simple way?

I have had the N7 for about a month and still have not found all the things it can do, it is a fantastic device for the Android crowd but mind boggeling for an ancient Windows brain, this is the only Android device I will ever have so I need to learn more about it.

I appreciate all the help I can get.

To exit from the book, tap at top left until the <Kindle bar appears, then tap the left arrow before the word "Kindle".

To delete a book, press and hold on that book in the list until the popup window appears then choose "Remove from Device" - that will move it to the "archive" and out of the list of "active" books.

To examine or work with the Archive, click the down arrow to the right of the line that says "Library > DownLoaded Items  | v"  or "Library > All Items (20) | v" etc and choose "Archived Items" from the drop down list, etc.

tanx bjs229 - I used to use that Kindle app and still do for Amazon connectivity dealys ...gave it up for CoolReader at the moment, altho MoonReader+ is also good.

CoolReader does more formats and is easy to use.

The archiving keeps the book around until you physically delete it.  To completely delete the book, you need to access your Amazon books using your browser.  Sign into your Amazon account, go to your book.  Click on the books you want to delete, and select delete.  The book is completely gone.

Good luck,
Bob

I also delete my books on the Nexus by accessing the Kindle folder and flat out deleting them.

I'm getting the nexus for Christmas
I already have a kindle fire but last years model.
I decided on the nexus because I didn't want a proprietary format and wanted an open android system however I love to read on my fire.
Look forward to reading on the nexus as well lol
Nice to be here.
All amazon related stuff I know.
Yes,log in and go to your books and delete whatever you wish.
Hope google store are close in prices and I have a large large selection of epubs I can install :-)

You can also install the Amazon store app.  No sweat. No fuss.

I don't think that Amazon app link is compatible right now.

That's just Google Play being a pain in the butt - they want you to install the tablet version - which I suppose makes a certain amount of sense.  We are being Nannied to death these days.
