Should I update to 4.2 ?
« on: December 27, 2012, 09:51:30 AM »
Hi all - first post here after receiving my Nexus 7 for Christmas  ;D

My question is should I update 4.1.2 to 4.2 ? I have read about the problems with 4.2 so should I upgrade or leave it until these niggles are ironed out with the next update ?

Thanks in advance......

I am on 4.2.1 and currently have no issues. There are reported issues with bluetooth devices, so if you have functioning bluetooth devices, you may want to wait.

Yeah I agree with Prime, if Bluetooth is an issue for you then wait. However, most problems are app related but most important apps have been updated now. You may find a few that have not but them the breaks of bleeding edge technology.

Is the blue tooth only broken under 4.2.1 on Nexus 7, as it works fine on my Nexus 4.

I've heard mixed on this. So far everything runs fine on my gnex Bluetooth wise and it has 4.2.1 but some people claim to have the problem with anything 4.2.1.

I received my NEXUS 7 for Christmas and the first thing I did was upgrade to 4.2.1.  I have had not seen any problems.  I have great battery life.  Bluetooth works for my LG HBS700 headphones/earbuds.

Don't upgrade unless you want a particular new feature, such as multi-user access.  4.1.2 was a joy to use but 4.2.1 is very annoying...  slow and unresponsive.  This 4.2 upgrade was surprisingly like a typical Windows update, which normally bloats and slows down a Windows computer.
