Nexus 7 Screen brightness problem
« on: January 07, 2013, 01:43:14 PM »
Hi all

I am on my 3rd nexus 7, the first one had software issues with the battery settings, the 2nd one had the dreaded glass popping out, i have just received my 3rd one and i have noticed a little problem.

With the auto brightness set to either off or on, when i go into google chrome my brightness goes up a little, it kind of goes up in increments of 4, i.e  it gets brighter a little four times then stays the same. When i come out of chrome it goes darker again in increments of 4.

If brightness is set to either minimum of maximum then it does not do this.

I am still waiting for the faulty 2nd nexus to be picked up so i tried that one and it does the same thing.

Has anyone else noticed this on there's??

Thanks all

Chris

Simplest question, have you tried turning off auto-brightness?

EDIT: reread, and I see you did say you had autobright off, please ignore me.

My questions is if you are accidentally covering the light sensor with  your hand or even a shadow or changing the angle of light hitting the sensor by the camera to change the screen brightness.

Hi

Thanks for your replies, i have tried all lighting conditions and still the same, its weird how they both do the same thing, its not a major problem however and when i think back i am sure my first one did it also to some degree.

Its not worth sending it back as everything else is fine, maybe if you all just click onto google chorme and look very carefully you might see the brightness changing ever so slightly and then settle.

It cant be a hardware fault i would not have thought if 2 possibly 3 are doing it.

Again thanks for replies

Chris
