Word Processor
« on: January 28, 2013, 04:02:06 PM »
Can anyone suggest a simple word processor. Kingsoft looks good & it's come up in a previous post but I don't really want the spreadsheet & presentation functions it includes.

What do you want the app to do? Just quick notes? Long essays?

I'm using Jota text editor. No fonts or fancy formatting, fine for one finger typing.

Thanks for you response guys, I'm looking for an app that will allow me to draft short docs such as letters etc. It'd have to be capable of being transferred from my N7 to my PC for me to pick up in MS Word.

If you want something functional with MS than you will need a full office app like king soft as far as I know. You could also use Google drive.

I use Quick Office pro HD and Office Suite Pro.
I am wondering why you are upset that KS  includes spreadsheets and other possibilities. Are you forced to use them? I have never used the app but I don't understand why it wouldn't have a basic word editor.

That's kind of what I was thinking. I like office suite pro and Polaris. They all get the job done though.

Thanks again for the feedback & advice. It looks like I need to use an office suite & Kingsoft has a good reputation so I'll try that one.

Before I started using a suite, I used Note Everything.  Another good alternative is Evernote because your notes are synced with all your machines.
I used to be crazy until I found out that insane pays more.

Where am I?  What am I doing in this handbasket?

Try Catch and/or AK Notepad.  Notepad updates to Catch which you can run on PC.  has tags, lots of other goodies.  I use AK with the microphone icon to dictate short notes to myself and to add to my running journal.   :)

Go for google docs and then you have no backup problems and it syncs to any other computer you have

Did KingSoft work out for you? I am tempted to download it cause its free just to check out for knowledge but the two I mentioned earlier have covered all the bases for me so far. I bought office Pro when it was on sale for 25 cents.I seem to remember an earlier post with someone having all kinds of problems with King Soft trying to sync with the PC. I know a 10 dollar app can seem expensive but its a one time investment and is an important one for me. Office Suite HD has worked out very well.
