I can make and receive phone calls with my wifi Nexus 7s using Groove IP Lite.

I'm not the lowest of the low, but I am the slowest of the slow (49.6 mpg over 38k miles in  Scion xB)

Does groove IP have advantages / disadvantages compared to Talkatone?

I haven't used Talkatone, but everything I've read comparing the two says results are similar, and the technology is the same.

Thank you. One difference I notice is that Talkatone makes it easy to send a text (see attached picture) while if that capability exists in GrooveIP I can't find it. Do you happen to know if it can do texting?

I read that phone apk is disabled in the stock ROM. Maybe possible with someone else's recipe?

My daughter texted my Groove IP number. I saw it as a Gmail message notification. I went to Gmail & replied to her. It went seamlessly.

Groove IP number? You mean Google voice number right?
I send and get my texts thru GoogleVoice. Not sure how to accomplish text thru Groove Ip.

Yes, the Groove IP number = the Google Voice number. What's the deal with replying to a text in Groove IP or Gmail? Makes no difference to me.

I don't get notification thru gmail when someone texts me. Not sure why. Texting thru Google Voice is instant. Like SMS. I would think emailing back and forth would be a little more time consuming.
