Very cool. I don't buy the unbreakable part. Even a diamond will break or shatter if it is hit in the right spot. I worked in the jewelry business when I was a kid. There are a select few that set diamonds simply because of the fact that even when you know what you are doing stuff happens.
The real point that is exciting is phones and tablets will have a lot more protection against scratches and if you manage to break the screen it was probably cause it was run over by a bus.

They are going to have to make it a WHOLE BUNCH cheaper before it can be successfully marketed.
I used to be crazy until I found out that insane pays more.

Where am I?  What am I doing in this handbasket?

$15-$20 isn't bad at all.

I'm not the lowest of the low, but I am the slowest of the slow (49.5 mpg over 42k miles in  Scion xB)

Bird has seen >650 North American bird species
Rooted Nexus 7
49.5 mpg avg for 53k miles in non-hybrid Scion xB

There are whispers circling the net that the upcoming Motorola X-Phone could have a Sapphire screen but I'm not sure it's ready for mass marketing...

You're right.  I only skimmed the article and latched on to the line about the only phone it was on costing $11,000.  I can't imagine spending that amount for a pocket computer.  Thanks for correcting me.

An alternative? Doesn't show touch response, but an easier aftermarket install.
