Battery stats
« on: July 21, 2012, 11:07:51 AM »
When I go to "settings" and "battery" my N7 shows 88% for screen.  I show nothing for wifi, even though it is on.

Anyone else show these stats?  Just curious.

Nope Drew, I see like:
  • Screen  73%
    Android OS  10%
    Tablet idle  7%
    Wi-Fi  6%
    Chrome 2%
    Mediaserver  2%

Hmm...I thought wifi took up 30-40%, and screen another 30-40%, so why so little on wifi and so much on screen with N 7?

Thank you for the input.

Drew
I use my Razr to run all my business computers in a network and have it on all day long and still the screen is usually 65 to 75% of the battery drain. That is why screen brightness has such a big effect on drain, and picking wall papers that are darker helps. Live wallpapers are a big drain also.

Live wallpapers definitely shorten battery life.  That percentage for screen still just seems large.  Oh well, thanks for response, I'm leaving it alone  ;)

Not all live wallpapers do. I'm using galaxy pack and it doesn't even show up in the stats.

I went into settings to lower my screen brightness to conserve battery (since I can't seem to put my N7 down)  and noticed the "automatic" setting--does this override the % setting on the slider?

Hi Rusty, yes it turns on the sensor (through the camera) and automatically adjusts for lighting.  You can still override it manually if too dark or light.
