While 4G capable, the user was on China Unicom, which only offers 3G

As awesome as the new 2nd generation of the Nexus 7 is, so far we've  only been able to purchase the Wi-Fi version.  There's a whole bunch of us that have been looking forward to the 'Mobile Data' version with LTE and HSPA onboard.  Well it seems we might be on the verge of an official release of said cellular capable Nexus 7 as pictures have surfaced of the LTE version in China in the hands of a 'Baidu' user named 'crazyfreely'.

Now the story he's telling, by way of AndroidPolice, is that he paid $2030 yuan (about $330USD) for what he thought was a Wifi version of the Nexus 7, only to receive an LTE version.  Now in the images you can clearly see the Sim Card Slots as well as 3G tag on the screen (he's apparently on China Unicom, which is HSPA+ and not LTE, hence why he's not getting a 4G signal).  Now this clearly raises the question of when we can expect the Mobile Data New Nexus 7 to be made available to the masses and while we don't have a definitive release date, the fact that the packaging of this LTE version looks complete means that at least one manufacturing batch must have already been run leading us to believe we'll see them in stores sooner than later.

The LTE version of the New Nexus 7 will have support for a wide variety of cellular carriers including unlocked support for AT&T, Verizon and T-Mobile.

Now while there's been a bit of controversy as to whether the european specs are final, as of now the radio support stands as follows:

Quote
North America: 4G LTE: 700/750/850/1700/1900/2100 MHZ (Bands: 1/2/4/5/13/17), HSPA+: 850/900/1900/2100/AWS(1700/2100) MHz (Bands: 1/2/4/5/8), GSM: 850/900/1800/1900 MHz

Europe: 4G LTE: 800/850/1700/1800/1900/2100/2600 MHz (Bands: 1/2/3/4/5/7/20), HSPA+: 850/900/1900/2100/AWS(1700/2100) MHz (Bands: 1/2/4/5/8), GSM: 850/900/1800/1900 MH

So who out there is going to pick up one of these 4G Nexus 7s when they become available?

The label clearly says LTE
