From Slashgear -

According to Android Platform Engineering Director Dave Burke, Android 4.4 will be heading out to all Nexus 4, Nexus 7, and Nexus 10 devices “in the next few weeks”, meaning we’ll likely be seeing it arriving throughout November.

So sometime in November.

I've put off 4.2 because of the multi-user crap.  Does 4.4 have the same and can I upgrade direct to 4.4?

When will Android 4.4, KitKat be available for the Nexus 7?
Any advice on techniques to accelerate delivery of the OTA update?  For instance, does manually checking for updates have any effect?

This might help explain things but it won't help you get the update quicker...

I will never do that again. I always wondered why I sometimes reached my Google music limit of 10 devices. I think this might be why!

Yeah it is but last year there were no issues using that method, now it does cause issues and I know from the 4.3 update because I couldn't install any apps... Had to remove my account. As far as GCM is concerned you've just done a factory reset and it has to rebuild.

More hassle than it's worth IMO.
