How do you receive $25 credit

I purchased a nexus 7 on line from Google for a birthday present for my wife. It was delivered in two days as promised,but we don't know how to get our $25 credit from Google. I had a Google account that I use for gmail and when I purchased the Nexus I must have started a Google Wallet, but I don't see any credit in there. My wife started a Google account on her Nexus when she got it, but we don't see any credit there. I just picked up the Nexus and signed in with my user name and password and could only get to a page where it wanted credit card info from a card I don't even have.
Any one know how to get the credit. Thanks

I went to the play store logged in and it showed the credit automatically.
