Sound Problem
« on: January 27, 2014, 03:08:12 PM »
My grand daughter has a Nexus 7. She had locked it and then forgot the code to unlock it. I followed the instructions to "wipe data/factory reset" All seemed ok. I checked for updates and updated it to Jelly Bean 4.3. Now the sound does fine with ear buds, but the speaker is real low and scratchy. Also she tells me that the screen illumination (sometimes) fluctuates. Does anyone have any suggestions ?

First boot the tablet in "Safe Mode", if the sound and screen issues are corrected, your issue is related to an installed app. If the issues continue in safe mode, I would try installing a factory image of the Jellybean version that works without issues.

Screen illumination fluctuations is probably auto brightness... Turn it off to set the brightness manually.
