frequent fail-to-boots and red screen: return or fix?
« on: September 08, 2014, 01:31:55 PM »
Hello!

I have a Nexus 7 2013, which I am very happy with. Well, nearly very happy. I'm unhappy because of two apparent hardware issues.

First is that a splotch of the screen, when it shows black, actually looks red. It's not a pronounced effect but it is very noticeable on dark videos etc. The area seems to be growing very slowly and I am concerned about what it will be like in a few months/years.

The second is that once every few days, the device turns of and fails to boot. It is charged, and athe LED slowly blinks white. But it won't start. I can usually get it to boot to the recovery menu and start like that - after which it is fine until it turns off again.

is there any easy fix to either of these issues? If not, I suppose the thing to do is sent it back asap as it's still under warranty for another month. It has already been in for one repair (a more serious would-not-boot issue)...

Thoughts?

Return under warranty, your pixel issue will only get worse.
