Next Issue
« on: August 11, 2012, 04:51:28 AM »
I've been trying to install Next Issue so I can view magazines I already subscribe to, Time and Entertainment Weekly, on the N7 with no success. Got a response from their tech that Jelly Bean support is "coming soon." Has anybody here used Next Issue? Its ratings aren't very high.

No, but that sounds like a cool app, I might check it out when they catch up...

Although I haven't tried it on the N7, I can recommend Zinio.  It has most of the magazines I like to read.  As my print subscriptions end, I'm converting them to digital subscriptions.  Saves having a pile of old magazines laying around the house.

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zinio.mobile.android.reader&feature=search_result#?t=W251bGwsMSwyLDEsImNvbS56aW5pby5tb2JpbGUuYW5kcm9pZC5yZWFkZXIiXQ..
I used to be crazy until I found out that insane pays more.

Where am I?  What am I doing in this handbasket?

The print editions of Time and EW include a free digital subscription. Unfortunately to view them you need a Nook, a Kindle, an iPad, or the Next Issue app for Android which currently won't run on the Nexus 7. Hopefully, it'll be upgraded soon.

Did you try the Kindle app on the N7?  It is really beautiful.

Thanks for the tip. I installed it. Than I attempted to get Entertainment Weekly. I found out EW is only available via the EW Amazon App, which like Next Issue, is incompatible with Jelly Bean on the Nexus 7. <sigh>

I tried to use Next Issue also, with no luck.  I have a Zinio account and have a large library on my PC, but after installing Zinio on my NExus 7, it said you have to have an Adobe program that Nexus 7 says is unsupported. Is there going to be a fix for that?
