Will it fit the Nexus
« on: August 13, 2012, 12:52:36 PM »
I've been looking at themes and wall paper at Google Play. Most of them are shown on phone devices. My question is, will they size up to the larger Nexus screen? Or do I need to find some that are specifically designed for the Nexus 7's screen size?

I Googled wallpaper 1200X800 and found plenty to choose from.

In short, yes, they should fit, but @S. Prime is accurate, in that the resolution should be 1200x800.  If it is lower, it'll probably end up being pixelated, and looking cruddy.  Check out Wallpaper Casa, as I have heard good things.  It's free, and showed promise.

One problem is how Jellybean forces that stupid crop grid on photos from the Gallery, so you often can't use a photo's full size or resolution.  I've found that an app called Image 2 Wallpaper let's you resize and do custom crops so that you can much more easily use photos larger than the usual size and resolution.  Bonus: no silly resizing crop lines.   8)

It's not Jelly Bean that initiates the crop. It's the gallery. ICS does the same thing. It's the gallery that initiates it. As you discovered, a third party album is the way to go to bypass this.
