Hi, I am Jd and I'm Brand New to Android
« on: September 10, 2012, 09:06:19 AM »
Greetings, everyone.  I'm Jack, but everyone calls me Jd.

I'm 52 and believe it or not was a computer consultant for ten years.  I know my stuff.  However, that was strictly Windows.  I just bought a Nexus 7 a week ago, and it's the first Android product I've ever used.  I feel like I know absolutely nothing.

Right now, I'm focusing on figuring out how to customize and organize the screens.  I hope I won't drive everyone nuts with endless questions.  I've read the Guide Book that comes with the Nexus 7, but honestly, it doesn't address the questions I have.

Anyway, just saying hi.  You'll see a few posts in other threads, seeking help.  Thanks for having me aboard.

Jd

Welcome aboard JD.  I'm like you except that this is my second android device.  I haven't been a forum member for long, but a lot of us are already nuts.
I used to be crazy until I found out that insane pays more.

Where am I?  What am I doing in this handbasket?

I can certainly sympathize with you having made the same transition.  Android is very different than Windows, and your finger is very different than a mouse.

Just load up a good Android file manager and it will all fall into place.
