You must pay a monthly service fee to your local carrier for the data access.I found that out too. At first I was thinking connectivity was built in for free!! However, after asking a couple questions, I found out it wasn't the case. Going to try to get the cheapest local carrier that has 3g..Be interesting to see what that 'cheapest local carrier' is going to charge. Keep us updated cehowardn7.

Call me a Luddite, but I hate parasitic fees. I just can't see paying $300 for a N7 3g, and then spending $300+ every year for the duration of ownership just to get a data feed to it.

However, that is the way of life these days. I recall when gas was 20cents a gallon, and top of the line Mercedes was about 10k. Not any more!! With that said, you could just use you N7 when you around free wifi, and home. Other than that, it seems one has to pay.. No way around that!
