Alarm!

This morning, my N7 began making a sound kind of between a phone ringing and a burglar alarm  - dee-dah, dee-dah....dee-dah, dee-dah....etc.
I couldn't turn it off...hand to power down the tablet.
I'm wondering if this had anything to do with me, last night, pressing the mic icon and saying "Remind me to pick up clothes from laundry tomorrow".  And if so, how do I turn the thing off next time?
Lastly, what is that function ("telling" it to remind me to do something) called?

I can't be of any help but mine did the same thing, a few weeks ago.  I asked it to remind me to do something tomorrow and that night the alarm went off at midnight.  I still don't know why.

Giving the  remind me "voice command" and an amount of time or date will set an audible alarm. When the alarm goes off a menu should open giving you the option to snooze or dismiss. I have never not been able to turn off the alarm but if it happens I would go into the clock app or time in settings and troubleshoot from there.
