Stickmount is not working in Android 4.2, at initial release
« on: November 14, 2012, 01:08:25 PM »
Stickmount is not working in Android 4.2 at this time , probably due to the virtual directory structure for multiple users. Let's hope Chainfire fixes it quickly. There are multiple reports at xda and I can verify that mine shows an empty usb drive. Stickmount shows the usb drive as mounted, but does not read and contents, so if you need Stickmount, I suggest waiting for a fix before installing 4.2.

Does NEXUS MEDIA IMPORTER work under JB 4.2.?

The 7-day version might suffice as an interim measure.

Yes it works. I have the full version. Not sure if that makes any difference.

Their photo app viewer works, so that will tel you that the full version works according to the developer and I can verify that you can see the other content on the OTG drive, but the app only opens picture files. I will wait a few days to see what developes with Stickmount.

Not at all happy with 4.2.  Grey bar appears on the left side of the screen on startup.  Disappears,  but not a good harbinger.
Tiny Cam app now forcing me to sign in to Amazon Apps on every startup to run it,  I'm assuming due to multiuser authentication issues.  That SUCKS!  And it's a paid app.
Still checking other issues,  but this is NOT ready for prime time...

The grey bar on the left side of the screen is where you can add widgets to the lockscreen, swipe the screen to the right and you'll see a +, tap it to choose a widget.

From Chainfire's Twitter: "Re: StickMount and friends, Android 4.2 has per-process mount separation ... this complicates things. "

After reading Chainfire's tweet, I am encouraged that we will see "Stickmount" working again with 4.2.

Just for those who are displeased with the "grey bar", there's an app on GP that removes the lock screen widgets. Its called Lockscreen Policy

Any news with Stick mount? I read somewhere that the developer is really pissed about people giving bad reviews at the store because the of the 4.2 incompatibility at the moment. IMO,he should be pissed.. justifiably so.   I think he even threatened not updating because of it. That would really suck. Great app.

Incidents like this are what pushes devs to stop their work, or start releasing lite versions with limited capability with a paid version for those dedicated supporters. I think everyone here should take the time to thank the dev and write a positive review.
