Nexus 7 Tablets Start Arriving To Customers

The wait is finally coming to an end folks.  The first Nexus 7 Tablets from both Google's Play Store and retailers are starting to arrive in customer's hands.  As the screenshot above can attest from XDA-Developers member bige610 as well as our own forum members CBers and CookieShop, units started to arrive this morning.  Now what's still unclear is if all stores have been given the go ahead to ship.  Apparently several stores shipped out an initial batch of the tablets but were quickly told by Google to 'hold up' on further sales until given the official word from the company.   This was apparently in order to ensure that those that ordered their tablets through Google's Play store would receive theirs first. It's unclear exactly when this hold would be lifted but some reports mentioned Sunday as the day when Retailers could lift the hold and hand out units to customers.  Stiill, it looks like the first units from both Google and some retailers are arriving today so it shouldn't be a long wait for the rest of us.  So did you receive your Nexus 7 today?  If so let us know your first impressions!

UPDATE: A few members of the forum have informed me that the above image 'might' be a fake on XDA.  We're still confirming but regardless both CBers and CookiShop have still received their Nexus 7s today and XDA has numerous UK members receiving their tablets today as well.

I've heard that too, but I haven't confirmed it yet.  For me my order was placed on June 29th and thus far no debit yet and no tracking number -- but it'll come soon enough.  In the meantime I'll enjoy them vicariously through those who get them first

This has been proven to be fake.  XDA even pulled this screen shot last night from what i understand.

Well I guess XDA  was wrong then.  Looks like some lucky person got it shipped to him/her before google said halt.

Just got a call from GameStop telling me that I could come in a pickup my Nexus7 this morning (Friday 7/13).

Nice.. I just emailed Google asking if they'd comp me the shipping price I paid, which was $13.99, since I could've ordered locally instead and gotten it faster.  Maybe they'll be kind

If you pre-order from Google and want to question the shipping charge, go to your Google Wallet and click on contact customer support, scroll to the bottom and look for "Email Us" then click on "Order Inquires". You can then send Google an email with your concerns. As samalex did, I asked for credit for the shipping charge. We may not receive any thing for the effort, but I personally feel better expressing my opinion and we may just get some consideration, either now or in the future.

S.Prime, you got an email addy or something for G customer support?  I look on the wallet page on this pc and I can't find anywhere that they have any customer support buttons or email addresses, and I searched but nothing that looks like you describe.

S.Prime, your process is exactly what I did, so maybe if a few more send Google similar notes they'll send some love our way, never hurts to ask I guess.  But my credit card was just charged the full amount, so it might be a moot point now.  I'll be completely floored if I get it today or tomorrow, but I'm betting it won't grace my door until next week sometime.

Also it might help to add your order ID as well so if something comes of this your message doesn't fall through the cracks.

I just got off the phone with Google. I ordered mine at 3:39 pm on 6-27 and my card has not been charged yet. They told me that mine would definitely ship today by 2 day ups and would be delivered on Tuesday 7-17. Somehow, I just don't believe them. I told them I'd like to cancel my order so I can pick it up locally (not really my intention) and they said I could not cancel my order because it's already at ups.
