« on: December 20, 2012, 05:08:48 PM »

Flipboard, one of the most popular news readers on Android has just come out with a revamped version that features the ability to view a new tablet-optimized version of the 'social news reader'.   With 'Flipboard' you can put together your own news magazine that's a combination of popular news sites like the BBC, USA Today, National Geographic, Oprah, Cool Hunting and 'The Verge' as well as news and photos from your own Twitter feed, Facebook, Instagram and more.  It's a great way to get all your information grouped in topics and categories that you select.

Now the developer of Flipboard recognizes that different people might have different preferences for how their Flipboard layout is presented on the Nexus 7 so you get the option of selecting a tablet-optimized version of the standard phone version.   Flipboard let's you pick your region for a personalized local version and you also have access to 'staff picks' that highlight some of the best content from across the web.  If you haven't tried 'Flipboard' it's definitely a worthwhile download and it'll revolutionize the way you go about getting your news.

I'll play around with it a bit more but I'm use to the vertical flipping of pages and I use my N7 more in portrait mode (unless playing games or watching video) more often than not so this feels odd.
I'll see how it goes...
