Delete Albums or photos from N7 Gallery
« on: July 20, 2012, 08:52:13 AM »
How do you delete an entire album from Gallery?
How do you create an album?
How do you delete a single image from the Gallery?

Thanks newtoandroid.  She's charging right now, but I'll try that in the morning.
No idea how to make an album, that was my next question.
I'll post a new topic.

Thx again.

Apps like ES File Explorer let you delete/create/manage files and directories.

Yes, ES is a great program.  But it won't let me delete files from Gallery.  I guess it's impossible.

WiFi file transfer lets you delete files in the gallery.

Maybe it worked for you, but I cannot find "Gallery" anywhere when I connect.
I'm doomed.

Well, why didn't you mention you don't know where the Gallery is? ;)

It's in sdcard/pictures/cache/com.google.android.googlephotos/

It's not named "Gallery," and its subdirectories aren't named by their common names.  They have various Picasa01, Picasa02, etc. names that you have to wade through.

Thanks.  Makes perfect sense, since no SD card for 7, and it's not named Gallery, and the subdirectories aren't named by their common names.  Why didn't I think of that?
I'll try it.

Actually the Gallery scans all of the internal user memory and displays anything it finds the falls within the picture file extension parameters like JPEG, PNG etc.
The stock Android Gallery has no editing functions and a file manager is needed to move files,  create folders etc.
Alternatively you could disable the stock Android Gallery and try something like QuickPic, available on Google Play. This Gallery app has  much more functionality than the stock Gallery and is how IMO the stock Android Gallery should have been.

Give it a try.
