Google kicked off a new television ad campaign today with the introduction of two spots: 'Best Friend' and 'Study Hall'. 'Best Friend' shows a young man playing a game on his tablet at college when he receives word via his Nexus 7 from his mom that his dog 'boomer' isn't doing well. We see him then attempt to travel home only to see his flight rained out and again he turns to his N7 to get alternate travel plans home. The second spot titled 'Study Hall' show us the same young man as he preps for a late night study session by both accessing his textbook which is on his tablet as well as looking up 24 hour coffee houses in the area to go study at.
Now both of these ads are on the short side ('Best Friend' is 30 seconds and 'Study Hall' is 15) and appear to possibly be part of a longer ad such as we saw with the 'Fear Less' ad released when the Nexus 7 was introduced. That ad was chopped down into several shorter versions and we won't be surprised if we see the same happen here. So what do we think of the ads? We think they do a good job of showing the Nexus 7 being used in everyday life and we like how the tablet takes a back seat to the lead character in the campaign. What do you think of the new ads? Let us know in the comments.
