In Mark's toolkit if it fails at fastboot execution, leave the tablet in fastboot mode and run the update again, if the update continues to fail, choose to update with stock recovery instead of CWM.

For those of you who don't want to muck around with adb side loading and already have root and custom recovery I loaded this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2525024

Just flash via recovery :)

Made sure I had the latest search, loaded the new launcher.apk that's around (you still keep your old one) and now have 4.4.without having to reload any apps and have the GEL launcher :)

Hi SPrime

I tried, CWM, and stock recovery and each time I see

On the N7 it says

sideload started.. now send the package you want to apply to the device ...

on Mark's Unified Toolkit (donated version) screen , it says

Device detected in ADB mode
Device serial no. is  xxxxxxx
Waiting for adb mode

And these screens stay on.....and ....on.

It looks like the N7 can not receive the file being sideloading by Toolkit

Similarly, when trying to sideload in TWRP, I got an error "unable to mount "/system"
And when trying to reboot from TWRP, it says that no OS installed in the system
As I recall I did wipe out data, application, user file and may be that is why I no longer have the OS on the N7

If you have actually preformed those wipes, you no have any data, unless you made a nandroid with TWRP or CWM. Your next option is to use the toolkit and restore a factory image.

Sounds to me add though there's no OS on the system... But confused but can you get into the bootloader?

I would just use Wugs Toolkit and flash stock and go from there.  He has a bricked option.

I GOT IT WORKED
Many Many thanks to all of you who really try to help me out
I tried with Toolkit and it says "waiting for USB debugging to be enabled" but I can not access the N7 to enable USB debugging.
When try to flash stock using Wugfresh I got these error messages
Archive does not contain "boot.sig"
Archive does not contain "recovery .sig
Archive does not contain "system.sig"

However, waiting for a few minutes, it erases boot and load a bunch of files and I got it working with an updated Kitkat 4.4 (Wugfresh has the latest factory image Kitkat 4.4)
Men, I spent at least 6 hours trying everything and with you guys help me out I got it done
NOW, hopefully my last question, can I use my nandroid back up to get my applications & files back? Will it downgrade me to Jelly Bean 4.3
Again, MANY MANY THANKS TO ALL OF YOU

Did you try the option on Wugs to where your Nexus won't start?
Did you update your drivers with Skippen?  Still won't recognize?
I really think there is a remedy to your issues here.  We just need to slow down and figure them out.

Glad you got it worked out, I support both developers because, I have found instances, where one toolkit may be the better solution, as you did. I don't know of a way to restore apps from a nandroid backup, but you can expand the backup and recover your data using the following guide.

http://ajqi.com/how-to-extract-files-from-a-nandroid-backup/

The one thing we all missed, was asking if you had a nandroid backup. We should have suggested that you boot into recovery and restore your nandroid backup.

Edit: Additional thoughts.  Make a nandroid backup of 4.4, then restore your nandroid of 4.3 and backup apps and data with Titanium backup, then restore your nandroid of 4.4 and restore apps and data from your Titanium backup.

I use Titanium for backing up applications.

Thanks guys.
Just download Titanium Backup and using it now
I had to re-install a few applications as well as copy my 120+ ebooks to the N7, otherwise things are running fine

You can restore your applications from the nandroid using Titanium Backup. Let me know if you need help.
Glad you got it sorted though.

Just had a system update after being already on 4.4.....Lost root. Now @ KRT16S I read it was just a small bug fix. Not sure what.
