Several news articles over the past few days have trumpeted a 600% increase in downloads of the popular reading app 'Instapaper' ever since the Nexus 7 started shipping two weeks ago. Jeff Rock, one of the founders of 'Mobelux', the makers of the app shared some stats that showed that the Nexus 7 very quickly has taken the #1 spot in downloads with 15.58% of Instapaper's downloads going to the device. He credits the $25 Google Play credit for part of this but Jeff also attributes it to the success of the Nexus 7: "7″ tablets are great for reading,” says Rock, “and the Nexus 7 is the first Android device to garner significant interest I’ve seen in the iOS-leaning dev and enthusiast crowd.” So just what is Instapaper?
