Hello from an Apple User!

Hi guys,

Just joined here and wanted to introduce my self.

I haven't actually bought the Nexus 7 yet, but very close to, just wanted to ask a few questions before I take the plunge. From the title you can see i'm an avid Apple guy, iPhone, Macbook, Mac Pro, ipod, you name it. The one thing I don't have is in iPad, to me, they are to big to take to work etc.., so thought I would go for this, try something new.

So i'm pretty excited about going into the world of Android and the customisation it offers. Hopefully going to ask a few questions and should have it my the end of the week,

Welcome joe!   I'm happy you chose to post an intro and welcome to the forum.  I think you'll be pleasantly surprised once you start diving into Android.   Way back when I was just a wee lad (a baby babyfacemagee as it were) I was a Mac and iOS user myself but found as I got more sophisticated in my knowledge that I wanted the freedom that the Apple 'walled garden' approach didn't offer me.  First I went Windows and then Android and I've never regretted my decision.   I think you'll find that there's a reason that Android is literally taking over the planet when it comes to mobile devices.  But there's nothing wrong with having a mixed marriage of both Apple and Android products as well.

Make yourself at home and browse our forums to pick out interesting topics to you.   If you're looking for something in particular please use our 'Search' function and if you still can't find it then feel free to post a question or topic in the appropriate board.   Thanks for stopping by and above all...have fun!

First off welcome to the Forum! Secondly, not to talk you out of a N7 but have you considered that Apple will most likely be introducing a mini before Christmas? Even with that said though the Nexus is a great choice for many reason and mostly the fact it will be half the cost, and like you mentioned very customizable. Good luck with your decision and future purchase.

Yes I will just have to spare some love for android as well! (hopefully).

I have heard of the iPod mini yes, I have researched this and have been tempted to wait. But I feel like I want to dip my toe into android for some reason, I'm sure you will all agree with that!

Your toe will thank you for it. No knock on Apple but I enjoy the diversity and freedom of Android products.

I do love my Apple stuff, just wanted a tablet that is portable, but at the same time wanted a quality product with a good operating system. Having a play with the nexus, it seems Google and Android have hit the nail on the head with this one.
