My grand daughter has a Nexus 7. She had locked it and then forgot the code to unlock it. I followed the instructions to "wipe data/factory reset" All seemed ok. I checked for updates and updated it to Jelly Bean 4.3. Now the sound does fine with ear buds, but the speaker is real low and scratchy. Also she tells me that the screen illumination (sometimes) fluctuates. Does anyone have any suggestions ?

Nexus 7 User Tips / Re: Web site will not recognize E Mail Address« on: October 14, 2013, 07:19:28 AM »
Thank you S.Prime. I realized that it was putting a Space between bell and south. (@bell south.net) I had to move the little pointer and delete the space. How can that (inserting a space) be stopped?

bjs you should have told me how to fix it before I returned it. I'm just kidding of course. I felt that it was toast because I couldn't get any response at all. Plugging the charger in didn't show the battery and the charger transformer didn't seem to be getting warm. If in fact the 30 second trick worked ,what could have made it necessary.

I bought my wife a Nexus 7 Dec.5 last year. It has been doing fine till this morning. It would not do anything. Office Depot gave me another one but it worries me. It was working last night then died. I hope that this is rare. It was only 3 months old.

That worked fine. The only problem is I told my wife. So she wanted it faster. I set it back where it was. Thank you anyway.

I want to thank everyone for the help. I have determined that books downloaded from Google Play will read aloud without jumping through hoops. So that is the plan. Again thank you.
