Nexus 7 Help / Re: Weird wifi problems
« on: December 14, 2013, 01:41:11 PM »
Fixed!! I hope for good. I checked the network settings on the tablet and somehow manual proxy was enabled.  I dont know how because all I did was set up the tablet, turned it off to put in the sim, and boot back up. Now I can put the other router away. Thanks for your help!

Ok here is the latest status. Working but not completely  resolved. I noticed this morning as I was heading to work that my phone hadnt had any updates. I tried to connect to chrome and couldnt. No throughput. Same thing with my other tablet that was working before. I just got home and reset the modem. Working fine. I connected the new lte tablet to the cable modem wifi and set it up. Then I shut it off to put in the sim card. When I rebooted there was a good connection but no throughput. I shut it down and took the sim card out and rebooted. No throughput. I checked my other tablet. Its still fine. So I drag my other router back out and plugged it in. The new tablet is working with it. All is fine as long as I am connected to the other router.  I have went back and forth about 3 times and get the same results every time. How can I find out why it is not connecting to my cable modems wireless router? I would like to just use one. I also have a deadline of January the 15th to return it. As long as I am getting throughput from the second router I dont guess I should but I wonder why one tab let will connect and one wont. Thanks for your time and advise!

Nexus 7 Help / Weird wifi problems
« on: December 12, 2013, 03:12:07 PM »
Hi, I purchased a 2013 lte nexus 7 about 3 weeks ago. When I first got it everything was fine. Then It started having wifi problems. It would connect but I wouldnt get any throughput. I have two different routers and had the same issue with both. I have a 2012 nexus 7 and a phone and they both connect fine with no issues. I have reset the phone four time. Each time things will be fine for a day or two but I get the same problem eventually. I exchanged it yesterday at best buy. While I was there the girl at the counter connected to a router in the store. She said she didnt do anything special. But I went ahead and got a new one. It wont even go through set up. It sees both my routers and connects but when it tries to go to the next screen it says web page not available. I have an tmobile sim card and I really dont want to return it but I dont know what else to do. I have searched and cant find the answer. Before I returned the first one I tried everything suggested and nothing worked. Thanks for your time.

Nexus 7 Android OS (Jelly Bean) / Re: will not update to 4.1.2

I'm glad you told me that. I finally got everything going. I flashed to 4.1.2. Then installed rootkeeper. When I used NRT I got the same results. Suck at waiting on reboot. But I noticed this time when I rebooted myself that su was on the tablet. So I used N7 toolkit again and it worked. I backed up with rootkeeper, updated and restored root. I did various checks to verify and everything says I'm rooted. Stickmount was the onyl thing tht did not work. It would see the drive but not the files so I will wait for an unpdate. Thanks so much for your help! Have a great day!

I am trying that now, I will let you know the results. I used Nexus 7 toolkit to root it and it said it did but some of the apps said I wasnt rooted or couldnt get root. rootkeeper said I was rooted. I tried to mount a usb drive using stickmount and I couldnt find it. I will let you know what happens. I was also wondering if I should relock it then unlock and root it as I did the first time.  Thanks for you help!

When I flashed back to stock I lost Voodoo. I reinstalled it and pressed restore root and it tells me root su restored but when I try to run apps like adfree they tell me they are unable to gert root. As far as NRT goes it gets to the part whee it is waiting for my device to reboot and stays there. I let it run overnight and it was still in the same position.

I was definitely rooted before. I am not sure why now when I try to root it gets stuck. I let it run for an hour and it never finished. I also made sure I had usb debugging turned on. The new way under 4.2

So far so good. Flashed stock and updated to 4.2 . I did install voodoo rootkeeper and backed up but I didnt know how to restore the back up. I and rooting with rootkit 1.5.5. My screen seems to be stuck in twrp. I haev a notification on my computer saying " waiting for device to finish booting back up ..." How long should this take? It has been at least 6 minutes or more that this one step has been in process. I cut it short one time before but when I rebooted my nexus superuser and another app it told me to look for werent there.

This has been happening since the 4.1.2 update started. My build number is jroo3d(4.1.1). I am thinking about unrooting it. I have clockworkmod and have tried installing it that way but it will not work. I have not flashed any roms but I am not sure if any system files have been modified. Also when I try to force an OTA update it boots into CWM. Before I reset it I had romtoolbox lite installed. I had adjusted my screen resolution with it. After I read somewhere that could be the problem I reset it back to original size. I do not remember making any other adjustments. I thought that resetting it would put it back to factory specs.

Nexus 7 Android OS (Jelly Bean) / will not update to 4.1.2
« on: November 16, 2012, 03:01:36 PM »
Hi!,
For some time now I have been receiving a notification saying I had an update. I am assuming this is the 4.1.2 update. Every time I try to apply it the update fails. It will download about halfway and the I get the icon of the droid with a red triangle. I have even gone so far as to reset the tablet back to stock and try it. After that failed I installed Clockworkmod and tried to install it that way. Again it will start to apply the update then it will fail to install.I am rooted I don't know if that has anything to do with it or not.  Any help will be greatly appreciated.
