Nexus 7 Help / Re: Car charger for Nexus 7?

Does this charger use a separate usb cable or is the charging cord built in? Also, does it happen to be a 5.1 volt charger?

I believe that this is the one that I have. The specs don't show its amperage output but it appears to be one in the same. The premium charger claims to charge phones faster. It does this by increasing its amperage output.

Best Buy carries this charger. You need to ensure that it has an output of 2 amps. This is the amperage necessary to charge the tablet properly. I bought mine a year or so ago for my phone. It claimed that it would charge phones faster than a 'normal' car charger.

Standard phone chargers have an output of .5 amps and will not trigger the N7 to indicate that it's charging. It may actually trickle charge the tablet if it is powered off. I haven't tested this on my N7 but it did work on another tablet of mine.

Anyways, any car charger that puts out 2 amps will work. Don't go into a store asking for a N7 car charger because you will most likely leave with nothing, or, the wrong one. They are out there, you just need to verify the output.

My charger also has a USB port so that I can charge another device at the same time. I plug my phone into that port via an extra cable. This allows me to tether my N7 to my phone and keep them both juiced up. I use Maps on the N7 and it looks so much better on he big screen!

I know that Play Movies has an option to integrate video files that belong to you. I was going to research this myself but haven't had the time yet. I'd start there.

I just sent you a pm about it.   In a nutshell...if you help people in the forum and write knowledgeable, accurate or interesting posts you tend to get 'applauds'.  If you write annoying or poorly thought out posts you get smites.  It's used as a way of gauging 'popularity' in a way.  The more people you help the more likely they will click an 'applaud' button for you.   The same goes for the flipside.    On every post you can see the 'Applaud' and 'Smite' buttons for the member that posted it.   On particularly helpful...or particularly useless posts some people click them to register their impressions of the member.   Obviously the more Applauds you get the better.   There's not much more to it than that.  It doesn't really have any affect on your membership.  It's just a way of making the forum more interesting and seeing who the more popular...and unpopular members are. So start answering some member's questions and get some 'applauds' on the board!
Please check my pm to you.

Could someone please explain how the 'karma' rating in ones profile is determined.

Ah, thanks! Well, sort of...lol! Sure would be nice if it integrated a little more seamlessly. BIG seam!

It does. I can't imagine that this is an easy task for you since every other Facebook app including their own is basically worthless. I'm just going to go broke trying to find one worth anything. Sure wish I could sell my Facebook apps and recoup some of my money.

So information will automatically be stored to the drive or do you have to move things there manually?

I think Tiny nailed that one. My duct tape suggestion would have not been as well received.

Any car charger that puts out 2 amps will charge as fast as the OEM wall charger. I have a rocketfish 'fast charger' which puts out two amps. The amperage is needed for the speed of the charge. It is marketed as a fast charger for cell phones. It gives greater output to charge them faster. Its perfect for the tablet.

If you could maybe write up something as far as how to configure a setup like this, I think a lot of people would be willing to try it. Especially me.

Unfortunately this escapes my realm of electrical knowledge and delves into the mystical land of electronics. On paper those slight differences shouldn't matter at all. Wish I could help. I'll look into it for curiosities sake.

Just to clarify pricing, currently the app is $2 and will include free updates. After we release this coming update, a few weeks later we will be putting the price up (likely $2.49) and then we have another major update coming a month or so later and then after that we will likely increase the price further.

The reason for this is that we wanted to start out with the price low to encourage people to try out the app and provide us with feedback to help us make it even better. As it becomes more feature-complete we plan on increasing the price, but don't plan on going to the $4.99 price point of some other third-party Facebook apps as we still want it to be affordable so everyone can use it.
There is new info every time I refresh! Will the price remain the same immediately after the update? Am I correctly reading that the price won't increase until a couple weeks after the update? I want to keep an eye on this app for sure but I have a small fortune invested in Facebook apps that I never use.

I'm having trouble understanding the free update topic. The update will be free to current users? If we don't buy the app until it is updated, what will we be paying for exactly? Right now the app is two bucks. Is the price going up once the update is released? Is there typically a charge for app updates that I have never noticed before?

EDIT: I just saw the final line of the previous post.

While its admirable to offer a "free" update to drum up business, I'm not really into gambling too much.

I just spent 13 minutes with the app before refunding. Without exact numbers on the price increase, I'm not interested in paying to see how much changes in the new version. The ui was a bit too clunky for my taste and it seems like a lot of trial and error would be involved to figure out what all of the controls do. IMHO, it isn't worth keeping it in its current state.

If the price goes up twenty cents after the update and things are laid out a bit better, I'd spring for it then. I just don't jump at buying something that is not worth that much to me on the promise of a spectacular update and an unknown price increase.
