Nexus 7 Root, Hacks, Mods And Development / Re: KitKat 4.4.3
« on: June 11, 2014, 01:23:55 AM »
I  never received the OTAs, so I downloaded the Nexus 5&10 OTAs from XDA and flashed them via TWRP.

Before reboot, I flashed the SuperSU ZIP via TWRP as well. Both completed OK and I was updated. I did take a Titanium backup before I started and copied it to my PC in case the update failed, in which case it would have been a wipe,  root and restore.

I'm  still trying to find the OTA for my Nexus 7 2012 wifi.

I manually updated my Nexus 5 and 10 today, but can't find the OTA update for my Nexus 7 2012 wifi  yet - found the 3G OTA.

Anyone got the OTA on their Nexus 7 2012 yet?

I have a 5, 7 and a 10, all of which are rooted, but no updates as yet.

My wife's N5 has received the update, but hers isn't rooted.

Looks like it might have to be a manual update.

TIA.

So, is there a guide to update rooted devices to 4.4 and/or 4.4.1 please?

TIA.

Had to flash 4.4 onto my Nexus 4 as nothing good would work.

Now I have the 4.4.1 OTA on my Nexus 10 and it failed via TWRP so not sure how to proceed now.

I assume my Nexus 5 will get it soon also, so need advice for both.

I'm considering unrooting all devices so as not to have to keep reinstalling everytime.

I thought rooting made life easier ;)

I made a habit of making a nandroid of a rooted stock ROM immediately after update without installing any apps. For instance, right out of the box, unlock bootloader, custom recovery, root, nandroid. No apps installed, only Google login. Next time there is an update, restore this nandroid. Update and then immediately back up again. Restore apps with titanium. This preserves the ROM from any adulterations. Easy update at any time!

Thanks @loociddreemr - something to think about.

Just tried add sideload ota.zip on my Nexus 4 via stock recovery, but it failed with "status 7".

Any ideas?

I'll check my Nexus 10 once it's charged.

I think I have 4 and HD installed.

I had both Tapatalk (v4.25) and Tapatalk Pro (v4.25) installed on my Nexus 5.

I have uninstalled Tapatalk, leaving the Pro version.

Really confusing!!

New Nexus 7 Help (2nd Gen) / Re: How to "close all tabs" in Chrome?
« on: November 22, 2013, 01:44:13 PM »
Click on the tab number, then on the menu button (3 dots on top of each other) in the top right and select close all tabs.

Sure that works on the smartphone version of Chrome, but not on the Tablet version of Chrome. The tablet version lacks this functionality, and each tab has to be closed individually.

Apologies, didn't realise it was different.

Amazing what you get used to but forget.

Are there links yet for just the OTA updates anywhere?

Do we have a list of the OTA zip files for the Nexus devices please?

Need them for my 4, 7 & 10.

TIA.
