Nexus 7 Help / Re: Reduced battery life.

To add to JJ's explanation, to determine whether or not it is a rogue app, start you device in safe mode, then install the apps, one by one, and see if there is a marked change.  This will give you the ability to rule out troublesome apps.

I believe it was Moe who said that all of the time.  I'm 35, and love all of the Stooges.  Well, not Shemp and Curly Joe....

According to various other forums, you can purchase an OTG cable, then a USB to Ethernet adapter, and you should be in business.  I know it works for the Galaxy Nexus, and from what I read, the N7 has the same, if not more capability, as far as the USB is concerned.

You can download Wallet guard for .99, or Device Guard for free.  Both provide lock access for your apps.  Wallet Guard seems less comprehensive, but more in tune with purchases.

Nexus 7 Help / Re: unlock options grayed out

Depending on the permissions, you won't be able to use face unlock.  My Department of Energy App requires similar pin access.  The opportunity to use face unlock has been grayed out also.

I also use Printer Share to mprint form my phone and tablets.  Although it does require a significant amount of permissions, it has performed for me flawlessly since I got the free download from Amazon, last year.  Another app that I have heard good things about is Cloud Print (sorry for not attaching it to the word, the computer I am on doesn't allow it)

I just got the Military Shield for mine.  Does it leave a sticky feel on the device?

These word games are quite common with Big Red.  I've been with them for more than ten years, and they have never ceased to amaze me with just how sneaky they get with some of their tactics.  The unfortunate part is their service is that superior to all competitors, so we stay.  That, and their devices are typically better, although throttled.  That's easily fixed when rooted.

That's an awesome pic Waxwrong.  Welcome to the Forum as well.

I'm on Bugless right now, and it seems alright.  Nothing special, no frills, but stable.  JJ is accurate in themethod of flashing ROMs, it is by far the cleanest way to do it.  Dirty flashes are effective, but begging for problems since reminents of the former rom exists, and generally don't play nice with the new ROM.

What's strange is I prefer CWM on my phone, and TWRP on my N7.  I only wish I knew why....

Nexus 7 Help / Re: Clock on unlock screen clipped
« on: October 22, 2012, 07:05:51 PM »
I have seen this issue listed on the other forums.  It seems to be a common problem with the newest version of the OS.  One thing you can do if you are not rooted, is to download Widget Locker.  It provides the ability to manipulate your lockscreen in numerous ways.

If your rooted, on the other hand, you can download different fonts, or change the clock around basically however you want.  Most of that is dictated by the individual rom you have on there.

Short of the above two methods, your options are somewhat limited, as the lock screen is in the root files.

Another tip that becomes important is turning the rotation on.

Settings<System<Accessibility <Check the Auto-Rotate Screen Box.
